Wilmington, NC, has always been a major tourist attraction, not just for its long and layered history, but also because of its natural beauty. It’s a place where nature puts on its best costume and look dazzling all the time. Nowhere is this more apparent than in Airlie Gardens. The 67-acre park has it all: trails, immaculate gardens, wildlife, and historic structures. You can easily spend the whole day here without getting bored. And if all of that won’t keep you occupied, you should swing by the 100,00 azaleas. It’s easy to think you’ve found paradise on earth when you see all this natural beauty around you. And don’t forget to stop by Airlie Oak Tree. This 467-year old tree has been around long before the first pale faces made their way to Cape Cod.
