Two Facilities Offer Interactive Learning Opportunities

Do you have an interest in the natural science, environment, and cultural history of the coastal region of the Carolinas? Do you wish to gain a further understanding of our earth, our solar system, and our universe? The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. (OIMF) can help with both! The OIMF has two facilities, the Museum of Coastal Carolina on Ocean Isle Beach and Ingram Planetarium in Sunset Beach.

Both offer the public interactive opportunities to learn about our world, from our seashells found on the beach here on the island, to the celestial bodies in our universe. Kids of all ages enjoy the exhibits at both facilities and can explore, touch, and learn.

THREE New Exhibits!

The Museum's newest exhibit, titled HIDDEN HISTORY!  features a WWII US Army P-47D Thunderbolt aircraft tail wing that was uncovered by eroding sands in 2000. The exhibit is sponsored by the GPS Store.

Ingram Planetarium is featuring a NASA Apollo Space Suit this summer ONLY! See a piece of history up-close in the Paul Dennis Science Hall!

The Museum's Coastal Gallery features an art exhibit by the Waterway Art Association "Expressions".
